PM Modi to virtually lay foundation stone for 10-Kilowatt FM Radio Studio Station in Dahod
September 26, 2023
Dahod: A new FM radio studio and center will be set up to expand the coverage of radio broadcasting in the areas around Dahod, which are home to a large number of tribals. Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone of the 10-kilowatt FM radio studio station to be set up at a cost of Rs. 10 crore under the Central Government’s Broadcasting Infrastructure and Network (BIND) scheme in Bodeli, Chhota Udepur. This will be the second radio center after a community radio in Dahod.
The 10-kilowatt FM station planned for Dahod is well-designed to cover an area with a radius of approximately 55 km. Under this plan, about 75 percent of the tribal areas of Dahod district will fall under coverage. Additionally, the transmitter will also partially cover border tribal districts in Madhya Pradesh, including Alirajpur and Jhabua. It is estimated that more than 25 lakh people will be able to receive FM broadcasts from the new station in Dahod.
At present, there are 26 broadcasting stations in the state of Gujarat, through which a total of 31 transmitters are managed. Of the 26 stations, nine centers, including Ahmedabad, Ahwa, Bhuj, Godhra, Himmatnagar, Junagadh, Rajkot, Surat, and Vadodara, have studios where programs can be produced locally. DeshGujarat
