ACB Gujarat nabs Municipality Head Clerk, Peon; Bribe sum was Rs. 2.25 lakh

Mandvi: Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat today nabbed a head clerk of Mandvi municipality in Kutch along with a peon of his office in a bribe case.
A contractor had through government tenders completed works of Rs. 90 lakh value for which he was seeking payment, for which the accused head clerk Kanjibhai Maheshwari, a class-3 employee of Mandvi municipality demanded Rs. 2.25 lakh bribe.
As the complainant was not willing to pay a bribe, he contacted the ACB office in Gandhidham, following which a trap was arranged and accused Vrajesh Maheshwar, a peon working with Mandvi municipality on a contract basis was held of accepting bribe money on behalf of the main accused head clerk Kanji Maheshwari.
