Bhavnagar: The local Hindu residents staged a protest near Kashi Vishwanath Mandir in the Haryala area here on Thursday against the sale of a house to Muslims in an area where Hindu people reside in the majority.
The residents of the area gathered at the temple and performed Ram Dhun in protest. The local Hindu residents are opposing the purchase of houses by Muslims in the area. Posters stating that people of other communities cannot buy property in the area were displayed. Hindu locals alleged that people from other communities create a ruckus after buying property in the area. The residents are demanding that the sale deed for the said house be canceled and it should be sold to another Hindu person.
It is learned that the earlier Hindu owner of the property sold the house to a person named Mehandi Razak, and the residents of the locality are protesting against this.
The local MLA, Sejalben Pandya, said, “If there is any problem, then the authorities are with the locals. The issue occurred before the Disturbed Areas Act was implemented; however, we are with the people, and law and order will be maintained.” DeshGujarat
