ACB Gujarat arrests two Custom Superintendents, a middleman at Mundra Port

Mundra: Anti Corruption Burea (ACB) of Gujarat Police has nabbed two Superintendents of Customs department at Mundra in Kutch along with a middleman.

The accused are identified as Shailesh Gangdev (Superintendent of Customs, class 2 officer), Alokkumar Dube, Superintendent of Customs (Preventive department, class 2 officer), and middleman Ramesh Gadhvi.

According to ACB, a complainant in this case had ordered handbags from abroad, a container of which arrived at Mundra port. The accused customs officials and a middleman demanded a Rs. 1 lakh bribe in talks with a complainant for not raising any query and clearing the container from the port.

As a complainant was not willing to pay a bribe, he contacted Kutch (West) ACB police station in Bhuj, following which a trap was arranged at Mundra Port today, where customs officer Shailesh Gangdev and middleman Gadhvi were present to receive a bribe, while Alok Kumar Dube conversed on the telephone. According to ACB, Custom Officer Shailesh Gangdev received a bribe after which he was held along with a middleman.
