Gujarat govt forms Dwarka – Okha Urban Development Authority (DOUDA)

Gandhinagar: Gujarat government today announced its decision to form Dwarka-Okha urban development authority (DOUDA). The authority will cover 10,721 ha area under Dwarka and Okha municipalities and Bet Dwarka – Shivrajpur – Arambhada – Surajkaradi and – Varvala gram panchayats.

The decision has been taken for development of integrated infrastructure development facilities.

Newly opened Sudarshan Setu, Shankaracharya Math, State’s only Blue flag beach at Shivrajpur, pilgrim island Bet Dwarka, the mandir of Dwarikadhish are part of the areas covered under DOUDA.

Devbhumi Dwarka district collector will head the authority while Pavitra Yatradham Vikas Board’s secretary, Chief Town Planner, Dwarka District Development Officer (DDO), Regional Municipal Commissioner of Rajkot will be the member of this authority. Devbhumi Dwarka district’s Additional Residential Collector will be the member secretary of this authority, which shall also have locally elected four member and district panchayat president as its members.

Urban Development department of the State government will through this authority also make a development scheme, development plan under Gujarat Nagar Rachna & Shaheri Vikas Adhiniyam – 1976. DeshGujarat
