June 29, 2024
Morbi: Locals organized a silent rally today in the main market of Halvad, urging the immediate closure of non-vegetarian shops and stalls in the city. Rally participants marched to the Mamlatdar’s office and submitted a memorandum addressing the issue.
The rally was organized in response to concerns over non-vegetarian shops operating in Halvad. A large number of participants began with a bike rally from Laxminarayan Chowk to the Mamlatdar’s office. Banners displayed messages such as ‘Stop non-veg stalls in Halvad’ and ‘Preserve the tradition of Halvad as Chhota Kashi’.
At the Mamlatdar’s office, rally participants demanded strict action against illegal non-veg shops, emphasizing the preservation of Halvad’s cultural identity as ‘Chhota Kashi’.
This protest follows a recent incident of illegal fishing at Samantsar Lake. Local leaders from Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal, Vepari Mahamandal, Karni Sena, and Chamber of Commerce intervened by removing fishing nets and releasing fish back into the lake. DeshGujarat
