Ahmedabad: The local police today detained members of Bajrang Dal who were protesting against Congress MP and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi. The Bajrang Dal cadre are protesting Gandhi’s visit to Gujarat after his ‘anti-Hindu’ remarks during his speech in Lok Sabha.
Hundreds of cadres from Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal gathered at the Vanikar Bhavan in Paldi. The cadres were chanting slogans of Jai Shri Ram and also tried to burn the effigy of Rahul Gandhi. However, the police stopped them and detained the workers. More than 100 workers of VHP and Bajrang Dal were detained by the police and taken at the police headquarters.
Bajrang Dal leaders stated that the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal strongly condemn Rahul Gandhi’s statement calling Hindus violent in Parliament. They demand that Rahul Gandhi apologize to the Hindu society and warn that whenever Rahul Gandhi comes to Gujarat in the future, Bajrang Dal will oppose him. Bajrang Dal protests will continue until Rahul Gandhi apologizes.
Joint CP Neeraj Badgujar said, “The required police force has been deployed. There is peace now. The Bajrang Dal workers had come out in protest, but they are being detained by the police.”
Chaitanya Shambhu Maharaj said “the entire Hindus are present to protest against Rahul Gandhi’s statement. Every activist, monk, and saint is present. Activists of the Hindu community have gathered here to protest against the hatred towards Hindus, which he expressed in the Lok Sabha. There were no Hindus involved in the Godhra train burning or the Mumbai attacks. If this congress with 99 seats, comes to power what will they do? Rahul does not have Hinduism in his DNA, and no Hindus have married into his family. If Rahul Gandhi wants to visit the Jagannath temple, he can, but there is a need for an entry board for Hindus only as it is there in the Orissa temple.”
Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi, who is on a visit to Gujarat today, reached the state party headquarters where he will meet the victims of the Rajkot Gaming Zone tragedy and the party cadre. DeshGujarat
