Surendranagar gets city bus service after a gap of 17 years

Surendranagar: District headquarters Surendranagar has got city bus service after a gap of 17 years under Mukhyamantri Shaheri Bus Seva scheme. Minister Mulubhai Bera dedicated 8 city buses in which the passengers can travel for ticket of Rs. 7. The city bus service will cover 8 routes within the city. It will be run by local Municipality. The women are being offered free rides upto the Raksha Bandhan festival. Rs. 8 ticket charge if fixed for journey for routes covering Wadhvan, Ratanpar and Joravarnagar. On behalf of the city municipality, a private run Karmavir agency operates this city buses. Per km cost if fixed at Rs. 36, of which the State government spends Rs. 22 and Municipality spends Rs. 13.
