Rainfall to subside in Gujarat; Here’s IMD forecast till September 5

Gandhinagar: After a vigorous monsoon week, the weekend is expected to bring relief to the people of Gujarat, as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts light to moderate rain in most parts of the state. Only a few districts are likely to experience heavy rainfall from August 30th to September 6th.

According to the IMD’s latest bulletin on August 30th, an orange alert has been issued for Jamnagar, Porbandar, Dwarka, and Kutch, which are expected to receive heavy to very heavy rain. Junagadh, Rajkot, Morbi, Gir Somnath, and Diu are under a yellow warning due to anticipated heavy rains. Other areas are likely to see light to moderate rainfall.

On August 31st, light to moderate rain and thundershowers are very likely across most districts in Gujarat. By September 1st, while most areas will experience light to moderate rain, Navsari, Valsad, Daman, and Dadra Nagar Haveli are under a yellow warning for heavy rains.

On September 2nd, an orange alert is in place for Vadodara and Chhota Udepur, forecasting heavy to very heavy rains. A yellow warning has also been issued for Anand, Panchmahal, Dahod, Bharuch, Narmada, and Bhavnagar.

On September 3rd, an orange alert continues for Narmada and Bharuch, while a yellow warning is in effect for Anand, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Surat, Dang, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli, Amreli, and Bhavnagar.

On September 4th, Vadodara and Bharuch remain under an orange alert. Meanwhile, Anand, Panchmahal, Dahod, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Surat, Dang, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli, Amreli, and Bhavnagar are under a yellow warning.

On September 5th, a yellow warning is issued for heavy rains in Panchmahal, Vadodara, and Bharuch.

During this period, the rest of the districts are expected to receive light to moderate rain.  DeshGujarat
