ACB nabs AMC Ward Inspector in bribe case

Ahmedaabd: Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) Gujarat has nabbed a ward inspector of Amdavad Municipal Corporation(AMC) red handed accepting Rs. 9,000 bribe. The accused had demanded Rs. 10,000 bribe to reduce the assessment of rented office in Ambawadi area of the city.
A complainant in this case has rented office in Ambawadi Bhudarpar road based Ashwamegh Elligance part- 1. He had not paid property tax of year 2024-25 yet. Accused Sanjay Patel demanded Rs. 10,000 for not do akarni in connection with this. After a bargain, the final sum of bribe was decided as Rs. 9,000. As the complainant was unwilling to pay a bribe, he contacted ACB, following whicha trap was arranged and Sanjay Patel was nabbed after he received Rs. 9,000 bribe. Sanjay Patel has monthly salary of Rs. 54,000. He joined ACM as junior clerk/ward inspector in 2012. He is working in property tax department since 2021. DeshGujarat
