Red alert in parts of Gujarat for next 2 days; IMD forecasts heavy to very heavy rains till Sept 7th

Surat: After a brief lull, heavy rainfall has been lashing parts of Gujarat, particularly Chhota Udepur, and the phenomenon is likely to continue throughout this week. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast for heavy to extremely heavy rain from today until September 7th. The IMD has also issued a red alert for some areas likely to experience very heavy to extremely heavy rains in the next 48 hours.

According to the IMD’s latest bulletin, during the next 24 hours, heavy to very heavy rains with isolated extremely heavy falls are expected in Chhota Udepur, Narmada, and Surat, which are under a red alert. Meanwhile, Banaskantha, Panchmahal, Dahod, Vadodara, Bharuch, Dangs, Navsari, Valsad, Tapi, Daman, and Dadra Nagar Haveli are under an orange alert.

A yellow warning for heavy rains has been issued for Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Kheda, Ahmedabad, Anand, Mahisagar, Amreli, and Bhavnagar.

On September 3rd, Bharuch and Surat are under a red alert with predictions of heavy to very heavy rains at isolated places, including isolated extremely heavy falls. An orange alert is in place for Narmada, Dang, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, Daman, and Dadra Nagar Haveli.

Meanwhile, a yellow warning has been issued for Anand, Panchmahal, Dahod, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Amreli, and Bhavnagar.

On September 4th, Banaskantha, Navsari, Valsad, Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli, and Kutch are under an orange alert with a forecast of heavy to very heavy rain, while Patan, Mehsana, Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Surat, Dangs, Tapi, Surendranagar, and Morbi are under a yellow warning.

On September 5th, only a yellow warning has been issued for Banaskantha, Patan, Navsari, Valsad, Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli, and Kutch, with a forecast of heavy rains.

On September 6th and 7th, heavy rains at isolated places are very likely in the districts of the South Gujarat region, namely Navsari, Valsad, Daman, and Dadra Nagar Haveli, which are under a yellow warning.

During this period of seven days, light to moderate rain is likely across the state of Gujarat. DeshGujarat
