Ahmedabad: The Sabarmati Riverfront Development Corporation Ltd (SRFDCL) is in process to build a yoga and meditation centre on the western side of the riverfront. The centre is expected to be located in Biodiversity Park, covering an area of 3,500-4,000 sq m.

SRFDCL officials, in a meeting on Friday, discussed this project alongside another project involving the creation of an international-level food plaza on an 8,300 sq m plot opposite B J Park. Both project sites have been finalized, with a consultant engaged for the food plaza’s design. Four designs for the yoga and meditation centre were submitted, and one will be selected.

SRFDCL officials stated that proposals for the yoga centre were invited from architects and consultants, and out of eighteen submissions, four were shortlisted. The final design will include fountains, and the centre will have dedicated parking, but will not include a café. DeshGujarat
