Gujarat CM announces assistance package for traders affected by Vadodara floods

Vadodara: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel today announced an assistance package for small and medium traders and businessmen who have suffered losses during the recent heavy rains and Vishwamitri floods in the city of Vadodara.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, in a social media post, announced, “Recent heavy rains in Vadodara district have caused floods, affecting many areas and damaging trade-commerce and service units. In this hour of distress, the Government of Gujarat stands by the affected with full sympathy. With the intention of helping rehabilitate the affected people and resuming businesses quickly, the state government has made an important decision to provide financial and rehabilitation assistance from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
Under this package:
– Lorry/rickshaw owners will receive a maximum of Rs. 5,000 in cash assistance.
– Small permanent cabin owners (up to 40 sq. ft.) will receive up to Rs. 20,000 in cash assistance.
– Cabin owners with larger spaces (above 40 sq. ft.) will receive up to Rs. 40,000 in cash assistance.
– Small and medium-sized permanent shop owners will receive up to Rs. 85,000 in cash assistance.
– Owners of large shops with a monthly turnover of Rs. 5 lakhs will receive an interest subsidy for 3 years on loans up to Rs. 20 lakhs at 7%, with Rs. 5 lakhs within the limit.
