Ahmedabad: Amid Diwali festivities and Gujarati New Year celebrations, a 24-year-old man was brutally stabbed to death by four individuals due to an old enmity in the Shahibaug area of the city.
According to the complaint filed at Shahibaug Police Station by Bitti Devi Kushwaha, her son Alok had an altercation with Golu Tomar, Gopal Tomar, Gappu Tomar, and several other unidentified individuals around 8:30 p.m. on Friday night (November 1) near their home. Upon learning of the incident, she brought her son back home.
However, angered by the conflict, the group reportedly entered the complainant’s home with knives and swords and began assaulting both Alok and her. During the attack, Gopal Tomar allegedly struck Bitti Devi on the head with a stick, injuring her. Alok then called a 108 ambulance and took his mother to the Civil Hospital for treatment. While they were en route to the trauma center after undergoing a CT scan at the CT Scan & MRI Centre, accused Pushpendra alias Chotu Tomar, Dipu Tomar, Bablu alias Bachhu Tomar, and an unidentified individual arrived, armed with weapons. They allegedly pulled Alok from the ambulance and stabbed him with sharp weapons before fleeing on a motorcycle.
Alok was rushed to the trauma center for immediate treatment, where the doctor on duty pronounced him dead. Based on Bitti Devi’s complaint, Shahibaug police have registered a murder case against the four individuals, charging them under Section 103 (1) and Section 54 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Section 135(1) of the Gujarat Police Act. A probe has been launched to apprehend the accused. DeshGujarat
