BJP MP Mansukh Vasava dismisses Bhil Pradesh demand as ‘preposterous’, urges tribal unity

Bharuch: A week after AAP MLA Chaitar Vasava from Dediapada in Narmada urged tribals to unite and demand a separate state, Bhil Pradesh, BJP MP from Bharuch, Mansukh Vasava, dismissed the idea as “impossible” due to conflicting demands from tribal communities across different regions. He called the concept of Bhil Pradesh “preposterous” (wahiyat).
Speaking at a Diwali Sneh Milan event in Dediapada, Mansukh Vasava cautioned tribals against being misled by the idea of forming a separate state, emphasizing that development is only achievable through unity and inclusiveness. He criticized Chaitar Vasava for politicizing the issue, stating that past demands for Bhil Pradesh by leaders like former Congress MP Somji Damor also failed as they were mere election stunts. “We (tribals) believe in unity. By staying together, we have achieved so much development. The idea of a different Bhil Pradesh is unachievable. Even in the past, several leaders, such as former Congress MP Somji Damor, had demanded Bhil Pradesh, but it never materialized. It is because these announcements are mere stunts to seek votes in elections,” Vasava said.
He accused proponents of Bhil Pradesh of “luring innocent tribals” for political gains, highlighting disagreements even among tribal communities, such as whether Kevadia or Mangadh should be the proposed capital. He further pointed to government efforts in providing homes, irrigation, education, and roads in tribal areas and reiterated his rejection of the Bhil Pradesh demand, saying, “The whole idea is Wahiyat.” DeshGujarat
