Attack on Sardardham Vice President; Khodaldham fame Naresh Patel’s involvement alleged
November 26, 2024
Rajkot: Does Rajkot-based Khodaldham creator and politically ambitious Naresh Patel dislike another Patidar community organisation, Sardardham? Is Naresh Patel jealous and uncomfortable with the rising response to Sardardham? Is there a Leuva Patel vs. Kadva Patel angle to it? An incident of attack on Jayanti Sardhara has raised such questions.
Jayantibhai Sardhara, a former corporator of the Rajkot Municipal Corporation and a Patidar community leader, was allegedly attacked by Junagadh police inspector Sanjay Padariya during a function at the Shyam Party Plot on Kankot-Mavdi Road. Following the attack, which left Sardhara bleeding, he was admitted to Giriraj, a private hospital in Rajkot. Consequently, a case of attempted murder was registered against PI Sanjay Padariya, who serves in the Junagadh SRP. He has been suspended on the instructions of the state police chief.
Jayantibhai, who is the Vice President of the Sardardham organisation of the Patidar community, told media persons that Junagadh police inspector Sanjay Padariya took him to a corner in a function at the Shyam party plot and accused him of being a traitor of the community and went on to say that if he continued to be on the side against Naresh Patel, then he would be killed.
Sardhara further said Inspector Padariya asked him why he took the position of Vice President in the Sardardham organization. Sardhara said when he visited the function of his relative, he was asked to leave the vehicle and was attacked, due to which he suffered a head injury. He fell down, and he was told then that if he joined any program of Sardardham, then he would be killed.
Sardhara said he faces threats often, and he is asked to leave the Sardhardham organization. Sardhara said he was taunted that he had gone into the lap of Kadva Patidars. Sardhara said the attack on him was as per the direction of Naresh Patel, who started Khodaldham and who dislikes Sardardham.
The Rajkot Taluka police have filed an FIR in the matter, booking the accused PI Sanjay Padariya under Section 109(1), 115(2), 118(1), 352, and 351(3) of the Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS), as well as Section 135(1) of the Gujarat Police Act.
Meanwhile, CCTV footage of the incident has emerged, adding a new twist to the case. The footage shows Jayantibhai and PI Sanjay Padaria in a conflict at the wedding venue, where attendees tried to de-escalate the situation. However, Jayantibhai can be seen shoving Padaria as onlookers try to seperate them. Later, the PI Padaria retaliated by physically assaulting Sardhara outside the party plot.DeshGujarat
