November 29, 2024
Surat: A review meeting was held at the Circuit House in the city regarding the PM Mitra Mega Textile Park being developed across 1,141 acres in Vansi Borsi of Navsari district in South Gujarat. During the meeting, Union Textile Minister Giriraj Singh asked both state and central government officials to expedite the project, while also making critical remarks.
The minister ordered the formation of a price committee for land valuation and the allocation of plots to industrialists. He told state and central officials that there would be no delays in the progress of the PM Mitra Park and emphasized that he would review the progress every 15 days.
The review meeting, chaired by Union Textile Minister Giriraj Singh, saw central and state government officials assessing the progress of the PM Mitra Park. They reviewed tasks such as land leveling, water and electricity supply, common effluent treatment plants, boiler steam, and plug-and-play facilities, directing officials to bring these works to a working level.
The textile minister emphasized that Surat is the hub of the textile industry, with a unique global identity in the sector. The industry has become a major source of employment for millions. The central government’s target is to raise the country’s textile industry turnover to $350 billion by 2030. The mega-integrated apparel park, which will be established over 1,141 acres in Vansi Borsi, will create new employment opportunities across South Gujarat and the entire state. It will also boost Gujarat’s and the country’s textile industry. The park will create an integrated textile value chain under one roof, including spinning, weaving, processing, dyeing, printing, and garment manufacturing.
GIDC Joint MD Surbhi Gautam provided details on the progress of the PM Mitra Park construction through a PowerPoint presentation, covering developments in electricity, water supply, land leveling, and road connectivity.
The minister emphasized that, in line with the Prime Minister’s vision to quickly establish the park, the government is committed to accelerating the work, resolving any obstacles, and fulfilling all necessary requirements for the park’s development. DeshGujarat
