Gandhinagar: Members of Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Other Backward Class (OBC) marched in rallies holding placards and submitted memorandums to local government officers in Mahisagar district of Central Gujarat against the “divisive activities” of Congress party’s Vadgam MLA, Jignesh Mevani. The rally was organized under the banner of Mahisagar Dalit Samaj.
“Jignesh Mevani in Mahisagar is engaged in divisive and controversial activities, which we strongly oppose. His video clips have gone viral, where he uses abusive language and insults women. We will not tolerate him here,” stated a representative.
The individual was reportedly referring to an audio clip involving Jignesh, which surfaced on social media in 2017. The clip allegedly contained abusive language, threats, and verbal abuse directed at the mother of a targeted Dalit boy.
If you think Jignesh Mevani is wrong just once this time, then you are wrong. He’s a serial offender, listen to him hurl choicest of abuses to a man for posting contrary POV on Facebook against him. Shameful new MLA 1/n

Another gentleman from the Scheduled Caste community in this march conveyed media persons that Jignesh only tries for divisions within Hindus but goes silent when Muslims attack Schedule Caste persons. He told media persons that Mevani doesn’t utter a word when a Muslim kills a Dalit. He said, “If Mevani has so much concern about the community, why didn’t he utter a word or pay tribute to Tapan Parmar, who was killed by a Muslim in Vadodara recently?”
The banners in the rally described Jignesh as a Tukde-Tukde gang supporter, apparently over Jignesh’s link to JNU slogans fame Umar Khalid. The banners also described Jignesh as a fake propagandist of Dalit good.
One more participant in the rally said that Jignesh has been in Mahisagar for the last 10 days, provoking the locals to create a divide among communities. DeshGujarat
