UPDATE: The Ahmedabad show of the Indian Air Force’s Suryakiran Aerobatic Team, scheduled for October 26, has been cancelled.
Gandhinagar: Later this month, the Indian Air Force’s renowned Suryakiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT) will dazzle Gujarat’s skies with stunning aerobatic displays. The team will perform in Mehsana on October 24 and Ahmedabad on October 26, offering spectators a thrilling visual spectacle.
Formed in 1996, SKAT is Asia’s only nine-aircraft aerobatic team and one of the few elite formations worldwide. Over the years, they have delivered more than 700 performances across India and in several countries, including China, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Thailand, Singapore, and the UAE. Guided by their motto “Sarvada Sarvottam” (Always the Best), the team symbolises precision, excellence, and discipline.

Flying nine Hawk Mk132 aircraft manufactured in India, the pilots execute their stunts while maintaining a jaw-dropping distance of less than 5 metres between planes. The upcoming shows will feature breathtaking manoeuvres such as loops, rolls, head-on crosses, buzzes, and inverted formations. One of the highlights will be the signature “DNA manoeuvre”, where five aircraft create a striking helix shape in the sky resembling the DNA structure.
Earlier this year, SKAT had already enthralled audiences with air shows in Vadodara, Jamnagar, Naliya, and Bhuj during January and February. DeshGujarat
