Like every year, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi joined a throng of people in their joy and zest at the famous Tarnetar fair.
Chief Minister offered prayers to Lord Trinetreshwar. Greeting the multitude gathered at the place he said that in the folk-culture every fair has its own unique message behind it. “These fairs give us the glimpses of social oneness and the strength of people. And, in addition to this, if the rain-god bestows his blessings during the times of fair, we can see an overflowing of life among the people”, he said.
Chief Minister gave details of state government initiatives to develop pilgrim places and tourist spots of Gujarat and to put them on the global tourism map. “State government is committed to develop natural tourist spots and to create maximum job opportunities out of the tourism activities with the minimum investment”, he said.
Chief Minister also talked about state government’s novel initiative of creating special type of woodlands along the pilgrim places of the state.
He described the rural Olympic which is being organized every year at Tarnetar fair as the ‘Rural Khel Mahakumbh’. He also gave prizes to the winners of various competitions and greeted the artists of the cultural programmes which are being held during the course of three days of the fair.
Mother Nature and the God has kept on bestowing their blessings on the six crore Gujarati people. Feeble elements who hurdle the growth of the state will not be able to cause any bad to the state, Chief Minister said.
