Modi visits Tarnetar fair, promises pucca houses to villagers

Chief Minister Narendra Modi visited the world-famous Tarnetar fair amid a great zeal and zest of thousands of people who thronged the fair.
Chief Minister expressed happiness for the spell of good rain even though it was delayed. God has showered his blessings in the form of rain, and Gujarat is now far from the drought-like situation, he said.
Speaking about the state government’s pro-people initiatives Mr.Modi said the government has built 16 lakh houses for poor during last decade. The government has instructed the talatis and sarpanchs to carry out a survey of kutcha houses in villages. “Once such houses get registered, we will start constructing 25 lakh pakka houses in villages for poor. This work will also create thousands of employment opportunities in rural areas”, he said.
The government has now allowed the sarpachs to use rupees five lakh for the village-level development works. This will result into all-round development of villages, said the chief minister.
“With a view to create the best sportspersons Gujarat has set up Sports University. We will also build sports complex and sports schools in every district”, he said.
Handing over certificates to the winners of rural Olympic the chief minister said the organization of rural Olympic in Tarnetar fair has provided opportunities to the youth to show their talent and caliber. The chief minister also gave away cash prizes to the winners of cattle-rearing competition held at Tarnetar fair.
Youth and Cultural Activities Minister Fakirbhai Vaghela, Executive Chairman of 50 point implementation committee I.K.Jadeja, Chairman of Tourism Corporation Kamlesh Patel, MP Shankarbhai Vegad, MLAs Varshaben Doshi, Bharat Khorani, District Collector Pradip Shah, District Development Officer C.P.Patel, government officials and office bearers, and people in large number were present on the occasion.
