Mehsana DySP, popular cop Tarun Barot was today produced in the court in Ahmedabad by Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI) team.

CBI sought five-day remand. The court granted remand till 28 September.

Barot was arrested yesterday in Gandhinagar by CBI in 2003 Sadiq Jamal encounter case.

Hundreds of supporters of Tarun Barot filled up the court campus and shouted slogans in favor of Tarun Barot.

It should be mentioned that Ahmedabad’s Bapunagar area is observing total shut down protesting against political use of CBI and arrest of Tarun Barot. BJP MLA Vallabhbhai Kakadia, local diamond market chief Narsinhbhai Patel and others criticized the arrest of an honest and brave officer.
