Former Intelligence Bureau officer Rajinder Kumar has reacted to CBI charge-sheet against him in Ishrat Jahan encounter case.
Rajinder Kumar said: I don’t see any blot on my career, I don’t see anything wrong in what I did.
“I have sufficient evidence to prove that the CBI is false. All four of them were part of a terror plot,” Mr Kumar said, speaking to a TV channel.
“I have done single-handedly for the protection of national security more than most others. We are not vultures to kill or target innocent people. We are human beings. We know how to save lives. We will defend ourselves,” he told a TV channel.
In its supplementary charge-sheet, the CBI has also accused Mr Kumar, a former chief of the Gujarat Intelligence Bureau, of conspiracy, along with three serving intelligence officers.
The CBI has alleged that Mr Kumar provided the weapons used in the fake encounter and an AK-56 that, the agency alleges, was planted at the scene of the shooting to portray the victims as terrorists.
