Surat to expand existing BRTS network possibly in May

Existing Udhna-Sachin BRTS stretch in Surat will be extended to Sarthana-Dumas stretch with seven more buses possibly in the month of May. At present the 10 km long Udhna-Sachin route is operational with nine buses on road. The Surat Municipal Corporation(SMC) plans to add a new 10 km stretch every month. Phase-1 of BRTS covers 30 km route. Presently only 10 km route is operational. Construction work for phase-2 is simultaneously going on. Three phases in total will cover 102 km route.
