Delhi govt team visits development projects in Surat

A team led by Chief Engineer of Delhi government Shri Ravi Das paid visit to development projects in Gujarat’s second largest city Surat.
The team visited Surat Municipal Corporation(SMC) run door-to-door garbage collection project, Khajod disposal plant, aquarium, treatment plant, biomedical waste disposal project and low cost housing project.
The team found tertiary treatment plant impressive. They couldn’t believe that gutter water could be purified to such a level. An employee at treatment plant drank purified water and RO plant water.
Earlier Delhi Police’s delegation had visited Surat’s CCTV surveillance project. Another group from Delhi had visited Ahmedabad’s Sabarmati river front project.
