Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the seventh edition of Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2015 on 11 January at Gandhinagar Mahatma Mandir, said Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel on Wednesday in Delhi while addressing curtain raiser event at Taj hotel. She called upon Indian Inc to participate in the biennial investment summit ‘Vibrant Gujarat’ 2015, which is being partnered by seven countries – Australia, Canada, China, Japan, the Netherlands, Singapore and South Africa. The bi-annual investment summit ‘Vibrant Gujarat’ will be held Jan 11-13, 2015 at Gandhinagar.
“The seventh ‘Vibrant Gujarat’ summit has attracted the partnership of seven countries and a few states in India and I hope that it will lead India to shine across the seven seas,” said the chief minister while addressing the curtain-raiser event here for the investment summit to be held next year.
The event will have India’s largest exhibition area of around 125,000 square metres(bigger than Delhi’s Pragati maidan) with an expected participation from over 2,000 companies, two million-plus visitors and over 2,500 international delegates.
The summit will also have eight theme seminars including that on Smart Cities, Small and Medium Enterprises; Hub for defence production; International finance centre; Water management; Health; Sustainable energy; and Corporate social responsibility.

Gujarat’s first woman Chief Minister Smt. Anandiben Patel today made a formal curtain raiser briefing on Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors’ Summit-2015 to the Envoys, foreign investors and leading Indian as well as foreign industrialists in New Delhi.
Later, Smt. Patel, who will be spearheading this state-sponsored biennial event for the first time, invited all of them to participate in the 3-day long Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors’ Summit-2015 to be held at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar between January 11 and 13, 2015.
This is the 7th biennial Global Summit being held in Gujarat, first one was held in 2003 which was brain child of then Chief Minister Narendra Modi to woo the investors to Gujarat from all over the world. So far, six editions of the Summit have been held, with each one being bigger than the previous one.
The last Summit-2013 had attracted participations from 2100 foreign delegates representing as many as 121 countries. Over 5800 Indian delegates had participated in it. In the event nearly 18,000 investment intentions were signed for various fields, which included technology transfer, R & D, education and production; and 2700 contracts for strategic partnership were also signed.
During her briefing the Chief Minister expressed a confidence that the seven nations – Australia, Canada, Great Britain, Netherland, Japan, Singapore and South Africa – will become partner nations in the 7th editions of the mega investors’ summit.
During the event deliberations will be made on fields like innovations, youths and skill development, women empowerment, knowledge sharing and networking and others with the partnered nations which will quintessentially take the Gujarat’s growth story to national and international level, she added.
Smt. Patel said Gujarat has developed a total eco-system which is industrial and investors’ friendly thus creating a cordial atmosphere in the state. In this reference, she cited several instances of facilities made in infrastructural development, skilled work force, investment assistances and others.
The Summits have provided a good platform to the world for knowledge sharing and social and business transformation. Gujarat is established as the Global Business Hub. She also briefed about the best planning Gujarat has made in the fields like health, education, women empowerment, innovation and climate change.
The Chief Minister also made one-to-one meeting with heads of industry giants like Maruti Suzuki, Mitsubishi Corporation, Mozerbare, Hindustan Power Project, Honda Motor-cycle and Scooters India Limited, ONGC, BHEL, GAIL, Hero Moto-Corp, Honda Cars India Limited and others.
Smt. Patel also personally met envoys of Japan and Korea Mr. Takeshi Yagi and Mr. Jun Gyu Li, respectively, for deliberating on bilateral relationships. Beside them, high level delegations from Thailand and Israel and Railway Board Chairman Mr. Arunendrakumar also held personal meetings with Smt. Patel.
Industry and Finance Minister Saurabhbhai Patel said that there exists a visionary leadership, transparent governance, well-organized financial management and not to mention the business-minded Gujarati and their risk-taking traits when it comes to industry or trade behind Gujarat’s universal development.
Gujarat has become a power surplus state from a power deficit one. Due to the RUBRAN culture of Gujarat with 24hrs electricity, road connectivity and urban infrastructural facilities, it has become a developmental model for rural areas across the nation, he added.
He outlined Sardar Sarovar Dam, due to which North Gujarat regions including Kutch’s barren lands have been livened up. Lauding Gujarat’s development, he added that it’s the first state which has initiated a five-year export policy and single window clearance in the nation.
Chief Secretary Dr. Varesh Sinha gave details regarding the seminars to be conducted in this summit by various countries such as Oz, Canada, Japan, the Netherlands, Singapore, S.A, U.K and USA along with the other states from across the nation. He opined that the B2B meet including one-to-one meet will give a new direction of success to this summit.
Additional chief secretary to Industry D.J Pandian gave a presentation of Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit-2015. Senior secretaries to GoG were also present on this occasion.
