Pakistan abducts Gujarat boats/fishermen for the first time after Modi becomes PM

Porbandar, 27 September 2014
After Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister, Pakistan has for the first time kidnapped Indian fishermen.
In a latest incident, Pakistan Marine Security Agency(PMSA) has taken 5 fishing boats 27 fishermen in custody in mid-sea operation for alleged violation of international maritime boundary which is actually not finalized.
The boat captured by PMSA belongs to coastal town Porbandar in Gujarat.
After Narendra Modi became Prime Minister, both India and Pakistan had stayed away from arresting each other country’s fishermen for violation of maritime boundary. One reason was good rapot between Narendra Modi and Nawaz Sharif following Narendra Modi’s invitation to Nawaz Sharif for his oath taking function. The other reason was lower or no fishing activity during monsoon. But it seems, worsening relation between two nations is now showing its impact. Sadly the victims are poor fishermen. In reaction to Pakistan’s action, India may also start taking action against Pakistani fishermen boats again.
