1.5 lakh kits for Statue of Unity arrive at SSNNL Vadodara godown

Vadodara based Sardar Sarovar Nigam’s godown is witnessing hectic activities these days. Kits of used iron farm tools collected from 2 lakh villages across India are arriving here in trucks. The godown has so far received 1.5 lakh kits. Fire proof godown with proper security will continue to witness arrival of iron tool boxes, village mitti and letter with signatures of villagers for next fortnight.
Logistics for collection and transportation of kits are arranged by public sector units of Gujarat government Gujarat State Fertilizers Company(GSFC) and Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers Company(GNFC). NGO Citizens for Accountable Governance is also part of the exercise. As many as 40,000 kits from Uttar Pradesh are arrived. Trucks are also arriving from Rajasthan, Karnataka and other states.
Gujarat Chief Minister is going to launch construction work for Statue of Unity featuring Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at Sadhu Tekri near Narmada dam in Kevadia colony. L&T is going to complete construction work of statue project in 42 months period. Iron tools collected from farmers across India are to be used for fencing and barricades around the statue.
