49 guilty, 28 acquitted in year 2008 Ahmedabad serial bomb blasts case

Ahmedabad: After almost 13 years of trial, a special court here today delivered its verdict in year 2008 serial bomb blasts case, holding 49 guilty. A series of bomb blasts in year 2008 in Ahmedabad had left 56 dead and 200 injured. The court has acquitted 28 other accused. Out of the 28 acquitted, 16 were given a benefit of doubt, while 12 were pronounced innocent due to lack of evidence. As many as 77 accused faced trial in the case.
