Ahmedabad, DeshGujarat, 16 August, 2010

Ahmedabad’s only truly international tourist place Sabarmati Gandhi Ashram on Monday hosted legendary Indian film star Amitabh Bachchan.
Amitabh Bachchan arrived at Sabarmati Ashram at 3 pm and spent some time in his vanity van to be ready with make up, white Khadi kurta-paijama and off white shawl.
Bachchan’s fans gathered outside the gate of the ashram cheered when Bachchan waved his hand with smile at them. One of the fans was duplicate of Amitabh Bachchan. Some fans had brought banner featuring Amitabh Bachchan and Narendra Modi together in photographs.
Bachchan’s shooting inside the ashram, for Gujarat Tourism advertisement, was closely guarded. Heavy security was arranged inside and outside the ashram. Ashram was cordoned off from all four sides.
In his second phase of shooting for Gujarat Tourism, Amitabh Bachchan will visit three places connected with Mahatma Gandhi. Bachchan is scheduled to visit Porbandar and Gandhidham also. Porbandar is place where Mahatma Gandhi born. After his cremation in Delhi at Rajghat, Mahatma Gandhi’s ashes were placed at Kutch district’s Gandhidham, where a monument is built to mark this event.
