Gujarat has least unemployment rate among all states, says latest report released by Government of India

BY DeshGujarat News, Ahmedabad, 10 July 2012
Gujarat Congress’s yet another poll agenda has been punctured, this time by a department under Union Ministry of Labour and Employment.
In run up to the assembly election, one of the issues Gujarat Congress has taken up against the state government is unemployment. According to the latest report for the year 2011-12, released by Labour Bureau, Gujarat has least unemployment rate among all states in India(barring Daman and Diu which is Union territory).
In recent past, party’s youth wing had organized a rally and convention on this issue in Ahmedabad. Also a TV ad featuring singing and dancing ‘unemployed’ youths was also aired almost on daily basis on Gujarati TV channels.
However, the latest report released by Labour Bureau(under Union Ministry of Labour and Employment) backs Gujarat BJP’s claim that Gujarat Congress’s shouting over the issue of unemployment is not based on truth.
According to the report(2011-12), India’s jobless rate stood at 3.8% during the last fiscal. Daman and Diu and Gujarat had unemployment rates of 0.6% and 1% respectively.
Chhattisgarh(1.2%) and Rajasthan(1.7%) stood at 3rd and 4th position in the list. Unemployment rate in Punjab stood at 1.8 per cent, the fifth lowest at all India level amongst states and UTs. Delhi and Maharashtra recorded an unemployment rate of 4.8 per cent and 2.8 per cent respectively during last fiscal. Haryana and Union Territory of Chandigarh recorded unemployment rates of 3.2 per cent and 2.8 per cent respectively and secured 13th and 9th position respectively

Show to keshubapa gang, congress.shouting that gujarat is this, gujarat is that .What they people rubbishing. What type of drama they are doing?
Are you not interested in developement? If you people have to show your “Tamasha” and Taifas, then go elsewhere.Even UP ‘s people are understandings the developement showing in Nagar palika election.
@ jigar patel, I agree with you …. DIVIDE and RULE strategy worked for many years , so CONGRESS party is using same strategy to divide and rule….THERE is a big conspiracy to defame GUJARAT and there people like this keshu, or zafadia and many who do not care for the people of the state but THEY WANT TO GAIN PERSONALLY….. CONGRESS high command gives regular “HAPTA” to these people to continue BARK….. JAY HIND…
Lol….
It will be interesting to see what this corrupt paid media and servants of bar tender come up with to speak negative.
Actually no IT jobs in Gujarat.
So we migrated to different Indian states. So we should be added to guj unemployment list.
Sorry to say 0% progress in field of IT in Gujarat in last 6 years. I am talking about 2006 IT summit if any one remembers.
It is wrong to say that no IT jobs in Gujarat. DDIT in Nadiad has near 100% placement in IT and computers and most of these students are in Gujarat. TCS is one of the largest IT employer in Gujarat.
Kunal, I agree with you. Zero development in IT and R&D sectors. Gujarat has now 50,000+ engineering seats. I dont think even 15% for them would well paid jobs in Gujarat. Most of them will have to migrate outside Gujarat or India. That will keep Gujarat’s unemployment rate low. There are no jobs for engineers, MBAs and other qualified proffesionals in Gujarat. Gujarat would have done better without Modi (and riots).
-I think you so called Indian should migrate to Pak and get good IT job in developing AlQeda,LeT, IM, MIM, PLO… websites! Thats what you are looking for in Gujarat, but not possible till Modi is there.
I think you are a pimp of congress.
@sunil. I hate congress. Would never vote for congress. I am just telling the truth. Modi has spent more money on his marketing than Gujarat’s development. Gujarat was developed state. Indian economy grew at average 8% between 2001-2010. It is obvious that Gujarat being industrial state and growth engine of india, would have growth rate of 10+. In fact between 2005-2010, bigger states like Maharastra grew fast than Gujarat. Look at planning commission website: planningcommission.nic.in/data/datatable/0904/tab_110.pdf
Modi would win next election in Gujarat because people of Gujarat don’t have any other option. People of Gujarat would never vote of Italian Sonia.
i dnt know the people of Delhi will change and change the current CM of delhi.so corrupted.
even people of bihar do appricating work for choosing Nitish kumar as CM of Bihar.but the people of delhi never wakeup.might mr AAp party will be winner next 2014 election………….
@ kunal, YOU are right… No IT jobs in GUJARAT…. BUT let me say realistic situation of IT jobs… MOST jobs are not full time and you have to move… WHERE there are many IT jobs, people go to BARS more and consumption of liquor is more…. UNETHICAL and IMMORAL activities are more…. SO let those kind of jobs stay in HYDRABAD or BANGLORE….. No offense to you or anyone… JAY HIND…
Kent…Are you stupid? Have you ever been to Pune or Bangalore or outside Gujarat?
True fact.. Being in bangalore I support your words.. Cos IT peoples we are losing our own traditions..
Kunal it is wrong to say there are no IT jobs in Gujarat. In the last six years in Rajkot city alone has created thousand plus IT jobs in private sector.
-Kunal, you not only seem to be un-employed, but illitrate as well.
-By your logic, all govt. employees are un-employed since as a rule they donot get employment in the hometown !
You might got 50% or even less so there are no chances for below avg student in gujarat..and not for also pimps like you.stay out of gujarat if u hv some self respect.
how can reliability and validity be assumed? Samples must be taken within Ahmedabad.
Any good news about GUJARAT will never come in any other MEDIA….OUR paid, corrupt and purchased media is one sided to DEFAME GUJARAT….. JAY HIND…
Bravo, Good achievement for people of Gujarat from team Gujarat government and we hope whole India achieve same rates of Unemployment as Gujarat did.
I hope people will give enough consensus to Mr.Modi in 2012 and 2014, so that he can deliver the same panache of good governance to the whole nation as he did in last decade in Gujarat.
JAI HIND
only jobs r there but no pay , gujarat is the state with lowest paid state in whole country , no wonder gujaratis r going abroad in tons still , if any one want to know then go to any develop country embassy , u will know how many gujarati want to leave the country.
please show this to KESHU & HIS GUNDAS…..He is stupid old man without mind.He is selfish
politician. We all know what kind of goverment was when he was CM.His son & Jamai was running the state & He was eating Gandhias with his taporis.VINASH KALE VIPRIT BUDHHI.
@ADS I am actually from ddit, and know it has 100% but tell me how many r in Gujarat.
@Kent I don’t get u why jobs r part time. And tell u liquor is most easily available in Ahmedabad n ghandinagar don’t know rest of Gujarat, u can get it on call home delivery.
@jd its nice to hear about rajkit IT jobs
All said n done still will vote for modi n BJP. Have done lot for manufacturing sector n agriculture too.
@sunil I am not unemployed. Its about feeling to return to home town n stay with parents.
@DG please have some rules for modration of posting, I have many time seen people hitting below the belt. Like @Deshbhakt
@Kunal i can understand your feeling as i am working in Infosys, Hinjewadi. since last 6 month i was trying so hard to shift back Gujarat and happy to tell you that soon joining Cybage, Gandhinagar. i have gone through many gujjus who working in Hinjewadi, so many times we had discussed on IT in Gujarat. Let me express those thoughts here. 1) All the industries and mainly IT companies prefers SEZ for tax, land & Infrastructure benefit. 2) Central Government had not declared single IT-SEZ park in Gujart where in pune hinjewadi itself, central government declared 7 IT-SEZ Park. What is this? 3) Gujarat government pro-actively taken steps and created InfoCity in Gandinagar, but it can not compete with SEZ. which is mainly preferred by any IT company. so not attracted big IT companies. 4) Sarad Pawar had looted lands from poor farmers and allotted it on throw away prize to those IT companies, Gujarat government or Modi cannot follow this methodology. anyway i come to know that Modi had handled this situation and already taken section from center for SIT(Special Investment Region) in Gujarat. as i heard SIT can compete with SEZ and it will surly attract Big It companies to Gujarat.
Dharmesh bhai,
This is the critical point. In an SEZ they can have a hire and fire culture which is the primary requirement of a service based industry built on outsourcing. In fact Wipro head Azim Premji said publicly that they cannot invest in Bengal because Mamata Banerjee opposes SEZ’s. He said that for reasons of “scalability” they need the laws that apply specifically only in SEZ’s.
Bengal offered both Wipro and Infosys the exact same financial and tax benefits – still they refused, because the legal structure outside SEZ will not allow them to do wholesale firing and hiring of employees.
To get SEZ both state approval and central approval is required. IF it is the case that center is not approving SEZ for Gujarat then why does the Gujarat government not publicize this fact? I don’t know. So till there is some place in Gujarat with SEZ legal system there will not be big development centers.
Two of the prerequisites for IT industry in India are knowledge of English and engineering college degree (except for call center jobs). Modi reintroduced English in gujarat schools and opened lots of Engg colleges so that part is done. Other than that I have no idea why an Indian company will hire 5000 chinese people in Shanghai, but not open any centers in so many Indian cities with lots of educated youths.
To my knowledge, the news is about unemployment ratio among the states and not about in which state IT industry is thriving. Everyone can not get job in home town, do they? If Pune appears more attractive to the IT giants, there must be some specific reason similar to auto makers give edge to Gujarat over all other states. Therefore, it’s not a matter of resentment. As far as new jobs are created, we should be happy. Most of the comments here are irrelevant. I am also not agreeing with the “low pay scale in Gujarat” comment. One can also find that living expenses are also less in the state. Everything can not be seen from the prism of the IT. You may also notice that thousands of people from other state employed in Gujarat, and they are happy. Therefore, please do not complain if you’re working in other state as a result of being in different field.
It’s not only about the people of Gujarat. Lot’s and lot’s of people from Kerala and other states are migrating to different parts of the world to live.
We have work here, but less paid and it’s difficult to meet the cost of living if we work here. I don’t know what’s happening with the Indian economy, Money value declining, cost going up, corruption, strikes, anti social behaviours from people.
Not only IT companies, but the government should invite more manufacturing, automobile and organizations from other sector to start their business to create more job oppertunities.
About government jobs, I have no comments for the rules that still persist about the reservation.
I don’t know how ours and the next generation is going to live in this country.
