Murti broken in Mandir, communal clash in Vadodara

Communally sensitive areas of Vadodara city witnessed heavy stone pelting today late in the evening. Police lobbed 10 rounds of tear gas shells to control the crowds.
The clash erupted after murti of Lord Shiva was found broken in Sarveshar Mahadev Mandir near Lal Akhada.
Heavy stone pelting went on for about half an hour following this incident between mobs of two communities.
Apart from Mandir, an ATM center was also damaged by rioters. One bike was set on fire.
Police lobbed 10 tear gas shells to control the situation.
The incident of communal clash at Fatehpura had trigger effect on nearby Yakutpura and Champaner Darwaja localities.
Police has controlled the situation by deploying extra police force and constant patrolling.
