4 leopards including killer of old lady nabbed by forest department in Gujarat

Junagadh: The forest department team has nabbed 4 leopards in Mendarna area of Junagadh district including the one which had attacked and killed a 70 year old woman sleeping in the open Verandah of here house in Moti Khodiyar village yesterday.
After the deadly attack on the woman, five cages were kept in the locality close to Gir forests. In these a total of four leopards including the killer one were found trapped this morning.
A forest official said that two of the caged leopards were male while two were female.
All of these have been sent to animal care center at Sasan Gir for behavioral treatment and other tests.
Notably, Sakarben Dilubhai Vekariya was sleeping in the open verandah of her house in the village when a leopard from the nearby Gir forests attacked her in the wee hours yesterday. She was admitted to hospital with serious injuries over her neck. She later succumbed.
