Gandhinagar: 1182 Gram Panchayats in Gujarat are witnessing polling today while 241 have elected the Gram Panchayat body unopposed. The results of Gram Panchayat polls will be out on Tuesday. There are total 22036 candidates in fray for membership of Gram Panchayat while 5,928 candidates are in fray for the post of Sarpanch. Barring the unanimously formed 241 Gram Panchayats, there are 1750 members who are elected unopposed. 1050 Gram Panchayat are formed partially unopposed. Of them 102 have unopposed elected Sarpanchs. Gram Panchayat elections take place without party symbol or banner.
