State owned GACL to set up 100 MW gas power station at Dahej
Gandhinagar, DeshGujarat, 28 October, 2008
Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Limited (GACL) in collaboration with Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC) will set up 100 MW gas-based power plant at Dahej in Gujarat.
The project, which is expected to be completed in three years, would have an estimate cost of more than Rs 400 crore, GACL Managing Director Guruprasad Mohapatra said.
GACL would be the first state government undertaking to tap natural resources and to be generating power to an extent of about 63 MW with this project, Mohapatra said. It would reduce dependence on the grid and help save power costs.
GSPC, which would supply gas to the project, has found huge quantities of gas in Godavari basin in southern India.
