Hundreds of villagers Stay in the tents to enjoy the Vautha fair
Vautha/Ahmedabad, DeshGujarat, 11 November, 2008
Ahmedabad district’s biggest Vautha fair is well-known for donkeys’ trade. But another interesting element of this fair is the presence of hundreds of people who lock their houses and come to stay in the fair by setting up tents on the riverbed. These people stay at the fair, cook their food there, fly kites, dance Garba, perform rituals, enjoy different rides, do shopping, take bath in the river and experience lots of other activities for five days. A video on this is presented above. Commentary is in Gujarati language. Enjoy.
