Ahmedabad is now National Internet Exchange of India(NIXI)’s hub

Gujarat has earned the glory to become the Hub of National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI).
Communication and Information Technology Ministry of Central Government has given its nod for the NIXI-HUB. Ahmedabad becomes the seventh city that is getting the HUB of National Internet Exchange. Union Government has already approved such Hubs for Delhi, Mumbai, Culcatta, Chennai, beyond giving the present approval to Hyderabad, Bangalore and Ahmedabad. The Hub has already commenced its operations from GNFC Info Tower Ahmedabad.
The NIXI-HUB would restrict the wastage of bandwidth in Local Traffic, impacting economy in foreign exchange. It may prove to be a boon for Internet Service Providers of Gujarat, also reducing in the bandwidth expenses. The Science and Technology Department has promptly finished all the formalities, and the NIXI Hub has started its operations. Director-NIXI has lauded the efforts of the Gujarat Government and GNFC.
