Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi today dedicated Rs. 421 crore drinking water distribution project in North Gujarat’s Sabarkantha district. Under this project, safe drinking water from Narmada canal will reach 3 towns and 271 villages including Himmatnagar, Prantij, Talod talukas in north Gujarat through Sujalam Sufalam pipe line using lift irrigation technology.

Modi targeting the centre in his speech said that “the central government has declared 13 river projects as ‘projects of national importance’ but why the Sardar Sarovar Project has been left out from this list? Narrating details of the project dedicated today, Irrigation Minister Nitinbhai Patel said, “53000 metric tone steel has been used in this 110 km pipeline which has been erected at a cost of Rs. 310 crore. Four pumping stations are part of this project. 29 pumps worth 20000 horse power capacity have been set up. Rs. 550 crore more are allotted for the development of Sabarkantha district.
