In Ahmedabad, Nano will be Rs 1.46 lakh

India’s small wonder, the Tata Nano, will drive into Ahmedabad at an entry price of Rs 1,45,897 (for the standard version).

Nano’s showroom price in Ahmedabad is Rs1,30,697 instead of Ratan Tata’s promised Rs 1 lakh. After adding all the charges like RTO(Rs8,000), insurance(Rs6,000), AMC tax(Rs1200), handling,logistics costs, the dream car will be far more expensive than its perceived price tag of Rs 1 lakh.

However even at that price, the basic version of the Nano is 31% cheaper – and the top end version, the Nano LX – is 5% cheaper than the standard version of the Maruti 800. The Nano’s standard version is also 11% cheaper than a two-stroke auto rickshaw.
