“Gujarat progressed because Gujaratis liberated it from Congress”
Ahmedabad, DeshGujarat, 23 April, 2009
Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi in his last phase of campaign for Lok Sabha election 2009, attacked Congress at several public meetings on Thursday.
At public meeting in Ahmedabad’s Dariyapur area, Narendra Modi avoided bullet proof podium set up for him and selected to use an open mike. He ordered his security men to put a podium aside as it was disturbing the public. However weight of bullet proof glass was so heavy that security men couldn’t put it aside imidiately.
Though this was Modi’s sixth public meeting in a day, he was fresh and full of energy during his speech.
Modi said, “Today Gujarat is discussed in the country and abroad due to it’s progress. And this progress is because of you 5.5 crore people of Gujarat who kicked out Congress rule and liberated Gujarat from Congress. Other states are unable to do this and they are still lagging behind.”
Modi asked people, “But are we Gujaratis selfish?”
People replied, “No”
“Then now it’s a time to think for the nation. We progressed because we kicked out the Congress. Now the nation seeks development and we have to liberate our country from Congress rule. So be ready to do it on 30th,” said Modi.
