Manmohan Singh’s son in law gets place in Narendra Modi’s speech
Ahmedabad, 23 April, 2009
People were surprised when in couple of public meetings this week, Narendra Modi talked about Manmohan Singh’ son and law’s Gujarat connection.
In Saurashtra’s Rajula rally, Narendra Modi in lighter tone said, “We don’t have any anger for Manmohanji. How can we get angry on Manmohan Singh? His son in law is Gujarat government’s Gujarat cadre police officer(IPS). Nowadays, he lives in Delhi with Manmohanji, but he is originally from Gujarat cadre. This means, Manmohanji has given his daughter to Gujarat cadre and therefore Manmohan Singh is our relative. We have honor for him, we can’t say anything wrong about Manmohan Singh, we can’t even think bad for him.”
Modi was smiling while saying this, so as the people who were equally amused. Modi however didn’t name that officer who is son in law of the Prime Minister.
Modi refers to Ashok Patnaik(A.K. Patnaik), a 1983 batch IPS officer from Orissa, who is married to Manmohan Singh’s novelist daughter Daman Singh.
