Repolling has been ordered in polling booth number 148 in Dabhda village of Limkheda taluka which falls under Dahod constituency. Repolling has been ordered following complaint of bogus voting. The
re-polling will be conducted on May 4. This is the only booth in Gujarat where re-polling has been ordered.
The order has been issued by the Election Commission after presiding officer of booth number 148 in Dabhda-2 filed complaint at Limkheda police station on Thursday in which he said, former BJP MLA Babu Bhabhor and around 10 of his supporters barged into the booth and started abusing the poll officers on duty. Bhabhor snatched away the voters’ list, and, with his men, voted about 80 bogus votes, it was alleged. He also threatened the officers.
Barjod had sent a private complaint to district polling officer RM Jadav, who forwarded the complaint to EC.
