Counting for Gujarat’s 26 seats to be held at 29 centres

Counting of votes for 2009 Lok Sabha elections will be held at 29 centers across Gujarat on May 16 for state’s 26 seats.

According to a list released by the Election Commission of Gujarat on it’s website today, Ahmedabad, Surat and Vadodara will host counting for two parliamentary constituencies. Ahmedabad will host counting for Ahmedabad(West) and Ahmedabad(East) constituencies at L.D.Engineering college and Government Polytechnic respectively. Surat will host counting for Surat and Bardoli Lok Sabha seats while Vadodara will host counting for Vadodara and Chhota Udepur seats. Counting of Bardoli and Chhota Udepur seats will be held out side the constituency area.

Counting for 23 seats will be held at single centres but three seats Amreli, Bharuch and Anand will have two counting centres. Counting for Amreli Lok Sabha seat’s Rajula, Mahuva, Gariyadhar assembly segments will be held at Pratapray Arts College while Dhari, Amreli, Lathi and Savarkundla assembly segments’ counting will be held at K.K.Parekh Commerce College. Counting for Anand Lok Sabha seat’s Petlad, Umreth, Borsad and Khambhat assembly segments would be held at Vallabh Vidyanagar’s BJVM College, while Vallabh Vidyanagar’s Nalini and Arvindbhai Arts College will witness counting for Sojitra, Anand and Anklav assembly segments. Similarly in Bharuch, JP Arts and Science College will host counting for Vagra, Jambusar, Dediapada and Karjan assembly segments while SAD Vidyamandal Institute of Technology will host counting for Ankleshwar, Bharuch and Jhagadia assembly areas.

The Gujarat Election Commission has put the names of seat wise Returning Officers(RO) and Assembly segment wise ARO, their mobile, land line numbers,their positions etc. details on it’s website. Given below is detail of Lok Sabha seat wise counting centres.
