Surat Multiplexes canceled 276 shows in last one and half month

Following a revenue sharing dispute between Mumbai based bollywood film producers and Multiplex owners nationwide, three multiplexes in Surat had to cancel total 276 shows in last one and half month period.

Though it is lucrative summer vacation time, Valentine Multiplex had to cancel 32 shows, City Pulse canceled 112 shows and Raj Empire canceled 132 shows.

Multiplex owners say there are determined, they would not succumb to producers unfair demand of 50-50 revenue share.

In Surat, all three multiplexes have come up in recent years in business. Due to dispute between producers and multiplexes, new films are not released these days. Almost all multiplexes in Surat and other parts of Gujarat are screening old films.
