None of the Congress MPs in Gujarat turned up at a meeting called by Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi at Gandhinagar today. The meeting was called to chalk up a strategy to represent Gujarat’s pending issues with centre effectively in parliament. Gujarat’s all 37 MPs in Rajya sabha and Lok sabha were invited in the meeting.
Some of the Congress MPs had complained yesterday, that they received an invitation for the meeting just two days before.
“It is practically not possible to participate in the meeting in such a short notice. Invitation didn’t mention even an agenda of the meeting,” said Kunvarjjibhai Bavaliya, Congress MP from Rajkot.
Most of the BJP MPs including leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha, Arun Jaitley were present at the meeting. Jaitley is elected to Rajya sabha from Gujarat. Opposition leader in Lok sabha and Gujarat’s Gandhinagar MP, Lal Krishna Advani was not present in the meeting.
