State Health Minister Jaynarayan Vyas avoided to meet representatives of striking doctors in Gandhinagar today.
On the 9th day of strike, five representatives of the resident doctors went to Gandhinagar to meet the Health Minister, but even after two hours of wait outside his office, the doctors were not able to meet the minister. Finally they came back to Ahmedabad without any discussion.
Vivek Patel, one of the representatives of striking doctors said: “For last 6 days, no discussion has taken place between the doctors and the government. For any kind of solution we need discussion. We tried to meet the Health Minister after the rally we had organized in Gandhinagar earlier but couldn’t meet him. Yesterday the minister said in his press conference that the government was ready to talk with the doctors. Based on this statement today when we went to meet him, the minister didn’t meet us again. We didn’t get any proper answer too from his office.”
When contacted, sources in Health Minister’s office told DeshGujarat that the minister was busy in three important departmental meetings and striking doctors had arrived at his office without any intimation or appointment.
