Two constables of Ahmedabad’s Kagdapith Police station were arrested and sent for seven days remand today for their alleged nexus with bootleggers who had supplied the spurious liquor to Kantodiavas in Majur Gam area of the city.
Police constables Ranjit Dabhi and Baldev Rabari were posted at Kagdapith police station during the hooch tragedy. They were later transferred to Kutch and Ahmedabad rural police.
This is first crackdown against policemen in connection with the hooch tragedy that killed more than 130 people last month.
