By-elections for seven assembly seats in Gujarat are going to be held on 10 September. Here we present some figures that show what happened on each of the assembly seats during Lok Sabha polls in last April. The figures tell, which party was leading with what margin.

Chotila – BJP ahead

BJP candidate of Surendranagar Lok Sabha seat, Mer Laljibhai was ahead than his rival candidate Congress party’s Somabhai Patel by margin of 1645 votes in Chotila assembly area.

Jasdan – Congress ahead

Congress candidate of Rajkot Lok Sabha seat, Kuvarjibhai Bavalia was ahead than his rival candidate BJP’s Kirankumar Bhalodia(Patel) by margin of 25 953 votes in Jasdan assembly area.

Dhoraji – Congress ahead

Congress candidate of Porbandar Lok Sabha seat, Vitthalbhai Radadiya was ahead than his rival candidate BJP’s Mansukhbhai Khachariya by margin of 11 476 votes in Dhoraji assembly area.

Kodinar – BJP ahead

BJP candidate of Junagadh Lok Sabha seat, Solanki Dinubhai Boghabhai was ahead than his rival candidate Congress party’s Barad Jashubhai by margin of 22 171 votes in Kodinar assembly area.

Dehgam – BJP ahead

BJP candidate of Ahmedabad East Lok Sabha seat, Harin Pathak was ahead than his rival candidate, Congress party’s Babaria Dipakbhai by margin of 2146 votes in Dehgam assembly area.

Danta – Congress ahead

Congress candidate of Banaskantha Lok Sabha seat, Mukesh Gadhvi was ahead than his rival candidate, BJP’s Haribhai Chaudhary by margin of 22 709 votes in Danta assembly area.

Sami – BJP ahead

The assembly election is being held according to old delimitation, however Lok Sabha election was held according to new delimitation. Due to massive difference between two, we can’t produce a result in this case, however, BJP was leading in Chanasma and Radhanpur both the constituencies that form Sami assembly.

Conclusion

There will be a tough fight on Sami, Dehgam and Chotila seats between BJP and Congress. Any party can win any of these seats by slim margin. Kodinar seat may remain with the BJP, while Danta, Jasdan and Dhoraji with Congress.
