No entry to NRIs without medical certificate, villages decide

After several incidents of Non Resident Indians(NRIs) bringing swine flu to Gujarat, at least two villages in north Gujarat have taken a decision to allow NRIs to enter the village, only after they produce medical certificate of being normal and healthy.
North Gujarat’s Jasalpur and Raipur are such villages that have taken this decision. A notice has been written on the black boards of Panchayat office in these villages.
Jasalpur viillage Sarpanch Anil Patel said, “every year on Diwali, at least 100 villagers of Jasalpur settled in America come back to the village. It is important for us to see, that none of them bring swine flu here. Due to Navratri, Diwali and marriage season, lots of NRIs would come back to their native. It’s better for them and for us to remain cautious and vigilant.”
