RJ Dhvanit launches his Gujarati music album Majja ni Life

Radio Mirchi RJ Dhvanit launched his first Gujarat audio music album ‘Majja ni Life’ in Ahmedabad on Tuesday.

Gujarati singers Shyamal Munshi, Devang Patel, Aishwarya Majumdar and poet Tushar Shukla, photographer Sanjay Vaidya, event manager J.D. were some of the dignitaries present in the function organized at Hotel Epsilon in Ahmedabad.

The album ‘Majja ni Life – A Musical Joyride with RJ Dhvanit’ has eight songs written by young lyricist Chirag Tripathi. Music has been given by 20-year-old Parth Thakkar.Rs 99 album is sponsored by Reliance Industries Limited and released by Saregama.

“While doing ‘Garvo Chhu Gujarati Chhu’ series on Radio Mirchi, I interacted with Manhar Udhas and Devang Patel, and we discussed that something new should be done in Gujarati music. There, the idea clicked in my mind to do something new, modern, and contemporary in Gujarati music. After hard-work of about 11 months, here I am with my album,” said Dhvanit.

“There are total eight songs in the album. The first song ‘Pappa Dude Che’ will stay in your mouth whole day once you listen to it, second song ‘Amdavad(Pardesi Beats)’ features today’s Amdavad with fun. We had songs on Ahmedabad in past but after long time; this song features today’s Ahmedabad. It narrates why we like Amdavad even after its all bad traffic and roads. Another song ‘Full 2 Masti’ is for those Amdavadis who feel their present day life is disconnected with the real old-day life in the city, be it old desi sports or a masti of living in pol area. Fifth song ‘Pari’ is bit autobiographical. It is a romantic song that asks where is ‘Pari’ my dream girl. Sixth song ‘Hari Om Hari Om’ has fantastic lyrics. The song ‘Pehla Prem Ni’ is duet with female singer Prachi Shah. When you are with your love on long drive in rain, you would like to play this song for several times,” said Dhvanit.

Dhvanit started his career as Life Insurance Corporation employee. He joined Radio Mirchi 98.3 Ahmedabad station after winning R.J.Hunt. He believes Gujarati music is not just limited to Bhajan and Garba. Like any other language, Gujarati language can also offer modern songs. Gujaratis are world’s best tourists and commerce people but when one thinks about music or arts, it feels that something is lacking. This album is an attempt to open new horizons in the world of Gujarati music.

Our Verdict

First two songs Papa Dude Che and Amdavad(Pardesi beats) are worth listening. Thanks Dhvanit for giving two new good songs to Gujarat. All the other songs in the album are just average baring one – Pehla Prem ni which has been highlighted on Radio Mirchi prominently(this is just first impression review).
